How the list is made
Every score comes from Flavr ratings, from 1 to 10. Curators, the people who rate the most places in their city and keep their lists fresh, count double once a place has 3 ratings.
A place needs at least 3 ratings. The more people rate a place, the more its score counts, so three perfect scores don't beat forty great ones.
Each month's list counts the ratings made before the month starts, and it changes on the 1st.
